Bereavement Survey

When hospice comes they explain a million things to you.  As the details keep flying you can only think of one thing...you are losing a beloved part of your life.  You try to retain the information.  You hope to remember what you are told.  Hospice offers meetings and support groups.  They also send out newsletters.  I would read some of them but other times I simply couldn't face the words anymore.  It is hard enough in the day to day without rubbing salt in the wound.  This envelope was thicker than usual.  It contained a survey for the past year.  I realized I hadn't taken advantage of a single group meeting or counseling session.  I might have read through a few notes here and there about "how to cope" but words on a page just brought me more frustration.  The year was the quickest and slowest year ever if you can understand the complexity of it all.  I regretted missing out on the offerings.  I filled in my survey as best I could and added a note asking if it was not too late for some help.
