Rhubarb Strawberry Jam

     It has been a full summer.  Lots happening.  Plus, now we only have a few weeks until school starts so the hectic has been kicked up a notch.  Throw in some special events and an endless list of friends and family we need to visit and I sometimes find myself overwhelmed. 
     Today was a day to recharge.  The rainy day was conducive to the mission of the day...to relax.  It was kicked off with a kitchen full of fruit.  Blueberry jam, strawberry blueberry jam and rhubarb strawberry jam was all made.  I've never chopped up a single piece of rhubarb until this morning. 
     It was a lovely way to start the day and it continued with quality time spent together.  Pooch had play time.  Pop had snuggle time.  Kids had calm time.  Dinner was delicious and dessert was yummy, too.  Tomorrow kicks off one of the craziest weeks yet but we are fully rested and charged and ready to face it head on...and scones and jam will be just the fuel we need to get going!
